Beauty

Posted Tuesday 10 July 2007

In the experience of beauty we awaken and surrender in the same act*.

Beauty tends to open us up. It lifts us up and out of the grey or the ordinary and reminds us of our origins and our destiny. Time stands still and the moment is transformed. The Irish writer John O'Donahue* through his book 'Beauty' stirs our memories and causes us to reflect on our experiences. He questions the extent to which we believe in beauty and so allow it in our lives.
