We consider Henri Nouwen as an exemplar of the spiritual journey and the movements he has noticed - loneliness to home (experienced as intimate relationship with friends and family) then onto a second loneliness (experiencing distance) that places us in a wider sense of home - deep connection with God as centre and integration with humanity.
