biblical journeys

He keeps close watch on all my paths
— Job 33:11

The Bible relates many physical journeys, such as Abraham’s travels from Mesopotamia to Egypt and Paul’s to his growing churches in Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and Syria.

Here we start with the shorter walks of Jesus in Holy Week to Calvary taking in Palm Sunday’s peace procession into Jerusalem, Good Friday’s dust and sweat walk to the cross, Holy Saturday’s descent to hell and Easter Sunday’s return walk to days and weeks, breath and heartbeat (Denise Levertov). Here also are the various terrains covered by various characters in the Advent narrative.
