THE Receptivity and patience series

receptivity and patience SERIES

“In order to travel light along the path of our inner journey, we do not have to devour more and more books; we only have to continually reflect on the few lines of truth that nourish the heart, and to put that wisdom into practice." (Travelling light, Daniel O’Leary)

So the proposal is to offer an image plus a quote (a few lines or phrases of a poem, scripture or a book), making up a weekly postcard (above) and over time a collection of postcards (below, to view and to download by clicking on each image).

We are committed to putting forward art and photography as a threshold for exchange. The chosen images are meant to be more than illustrative: 'we are transformed in the presence of images' wrote Carl Jung. Also a few chosen words can slice open the receptive, yet often startled heart.  These usefully lay bare for us the thoughts and intents of the heart (cf Hebrews 4:12). Links to further or expanded material (such as a whole poem's text or reading) may be available as appropriate.

We suggest an approach: What stands out, challenges or is beguiling?  Stop and attend to this.  Drop or sink into that. Trust and follow the Guide.
