Truly I say to you today you will be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:43)
It can help to find the words to tell the truth of where you are now. If you can find the courage to name ‘here’ – especially in the place where you do not wish to be – it can help you be there. Padraig O Tuama
HONESTY and faith
The honesty of one criminal hanging next to Jesus ('I deserve this') - the naming of here - leads like escaping air to a release of faith ('remember me when you come into power') and possibly a kindness too for I imagine it warming Jesus' heart even as he suffered terribly. Honesty and faith are grounded, close words and actions, describing what is, and are not merely for there and then.
